Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree with New York State Certification in Special Education (Grades 1-6 or All Grades) is mandatory; experience working with autism is preferred. Support available for teachers pursuing their SWD (Students with Disabilities) certification and MA degree through our professional development initiatives.

Position Overview:

  • Full-Time | Monday to Friday
  • Working Hours: 8:00 A. M to 3:00 P. M
  • 10-month academic program with a 30-day summer session
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate student needs and capabilities, and develop lesson plans tailored for a self-contained classroom environment.
  • Assess students' developmental stages and create individualized educational plans using behavioral approaches grounded in applied behavioral analysis and/or TEACCH methodologies.
  • Formulate developmentally appropriate IEP goals focusing on strengths, growth areas, and preferences for motivation and reinforcement.
  • Design daily schedules and lesson plans that adhere to NYS Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core Standards or NYS Common Core Standards, using authentic assessment data to advance school readiness and align with IEP objectives; prepare progress reports and update IEPs as necessary; actively participate in review meetings.

Salary Range: $79,760.00 - $81,411.00 per year
