Qualifications

Required Competencies:Expertise in both design and construction facets of geotechnical engineering. Proven experience in shallow and deep foundation design, including Caltrans bridge foundations, retaining walls, MSE walls, and pavements. Knowledge of mat-type foundations and their design parameters. Proficient in geotechnical software including Settle3D, Slide, AllPile, L-Pile, Shaft, CLiq, and LiquefyPro. Experience with field infiltration testing and design rate development. Strong technical writing abilities and effective communication skills. A collaborative mindset, fostering teamwork with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. At least 6 years of relevant civil/geotechnical engineering experience. California GE registration is preferred.

This role is pivotal in leading geotechnical evaluations across diverse projects, ensuring the highest engineering standards. As a key member, you'll not only oversee projects but also contribute to technical staff development and engage in business development initiatives to drive our growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage geotechnical evaluations for a variety of projects.
  • Oversee and ensure adherence to best practices in geotechnical engineering.
  • Draft proposals for subsurface investigations and support marketing efforts to secure these projects.
  • Facilitate the technical growth and development of engineering staff.
  • Participate in business development activities, including interviews, proposal reviews, and RFP assessments.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance project acquisition.
  • Achieve and maintain company chargeability goals.
