Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Execute microwave-assisted CO2 desorption experiments and meticulously document procedures, conditions, and results. Operate and assist in maintaining test stands, including microwave units, vacuum and gas-flow systems, mass flow controllers, and bladder/weight measurement instruments. Collect, clean, and analyze experimental data (temperature, pressure, power, flow, CO₂ concentration) producing clear summary plots and tables. Communicate findings through concise written summaries and brief presentations to the R&D and Engineering teams. Adhere to lab/shop safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean, well-organized testing environment. Be enthusiastic about contributing to a collaborative, driven R&D team, communicate openly, work well with others, and be open to learning from experience. Qualifications:Completion of Junior year or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field by Summer 2026.Comfort with mechanical or electrical lab setups (e.g., assembling test rigs, troubleshooting components) is preferred. Experience in team-based technical projects and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Proficient in data analysis and familiar with relevant software tools.

Role overview
The Microwave Systems Test Engineering Intern will support hands-on research focused on microwave-assisted CO2 desorption. This includes setting up and running experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and helping characterize how materials behave under different conditions. The work involves close collaboration with R&D, Test Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering teams.

Compensation
- $25 per hour
- Travel reimbursement up to $400 for those relocating from outside the Bay Area
