YOUR IMPACT

As a Microwave Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development of millimeter wave hardware that acts as the ignition source for fusion plasma, raising its temperature to over 100 million degrees. Join our team to enhance microwave modeling and play a pivotal role in the thermo-mechanical design of high-power components. Additionally, you will assist in building and testing these microwave RF components in the laboratory before their large-scale installation on our scientific breakeven Alpha stellarator.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide innovative solutions to complex microwave radiofrequency engineering challenges through collaboration with physicists to ensure component designs adhere to Alpha plasma physics and thermal-mechanical constraints.

  • Develop and evaluate designs from vendors to identify the most efficient approach for delivering power to the stellarator, thereby reducing the input power denominator that limits fusion power plant gain (Q=Pout/Pin) and minimizing costs.
