Are You Ready to Push Boundaries?Essential Experience:Proven experience in the design and management of mechanical and electrical building services and teams. The candidate should possess either a mechanical or electrical bias while demonstrating a robust understanding of all MEP aspects. Proficiency in heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Experience with above-ground drainage. Familiarity with MEP controls and instrumentation. Knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution. Understanding of communications and data systems. Expertise in fire detection and alarm systems. Experience with industrial and emergency lighting. Familiarity with site broadcast (PA) systems. Understanding of engineering design and safety practices, and knowledge of internal health & safety, design, and quality assurance procedures. Requirements:A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or an equivalent qualification. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is preferred.

We are on the lookout for a talented and driven MEP (Building Services) Associate Director (AD) to enhance our Scotland team. This pivotal role is primarily focused on MEP engineering management and leadership within the Defence sector. As the AD, you will oversee all aspects of MEP design, including technical specifications, quality assurance, programming, resource allocation, project delivery, financial oversight, risk management, and governance. Please note that security clearance will be necessary for this position.

Your expertise will be crucial in facilitating the design and implementation of high-integrity systems that support vital defence projects across Scotland. You will collaborate closely with AECOM's multidisciplinary teams, clients, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure exceptional MEP delivery. This role will involve engaging with a variety of complex projects, contributing to the development of safety-critical and high-integrity systems adhering to industry standards, defence regulations, and compliance frameworks.

Moreover, you will have the opportunity to enhance the team's experience in key sectors, including Healthcare, Science, Higher Education, and Industrial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate engineering production activities for Defence Sector MEP design delivery.
  • Make authoritative decisions and recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain communication with senior management within the company, demonstrating conflict resolution skills and the ability to negotiate critical issues. You will exhibit a strong understanding of project delivery requirements and work creatively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality technical excellence.
  • Utilize mature judgment to anticipate and resolve both routine and unique operational challenges, define operational objectives and requirements, organize projects, and develop standards and guidelines for diverse engineering activities.

Technical / Functional Expertise:

  • Receive guidance from senior leadership members.
  • Manage a department or multiple processes or programs with moderate to high complexity.
  • Accountable for performance and results in your area.
  • Integrate functional strategies and develop specific objectives.
  • Analyze complex issues and take responsibility for solving challenging problems.
  • Organize, execute, and coordinate assignments and manage larger and more complex projects.
  • Work collaboratively while maintaining autonomy in accordance with policies and procedures that support business strategy.
  • Provide leadership and direction through managers and professional staff or lead initiatives to enhance technical expertise.
