The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for delivering comprehensive estimating services based on bid plans, specifications, and other documentation. Estimates may vary in complexity, from conceptual to detailed, depending on the stage of engineering and design, and may follow a lump sum, time and material, or negotiated/fixed fee structure. The estimation process may utilize manual methods, computer spreadsheets, word processing, or commercial estimating software. Key responsibilities include:Participating in pre-bid meetings as required. Thoroughly reviewing plans, drawings, and specifications to fully comprehend the scope of work, and seeking additional information or clarifications as needed. Conducting material take-offs and accurately inputting these in the required format. Gathering and entering material pricing into the estimate format. Calculating labor units against material costs to develop accurate estimates.

Please note that this position may be based out of our Chester or Norfolk office, depending on project requirements. Some travel for job walks will be necessary.
