Your responsibilities will include:Designing custom vehicle structures and trim for Waymo vehicles. Collaborating closely with OEM partners to define modifications to base vehicle architecture and components tailored to Waymo's requirements. Working in tandem with internal Waymo teams such as Styling, Product, System Architecture, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to understand their needs and engineer solutions that fulfill their requirements. Engaging with Tier One suppliers to translate designs into production-ready realities, addressing DFM feedback and quality expectations. Developing and presenting trade matrices that outline various solutions to engineering challenges, considering factors like weight, cost, and packaging volume to recommend the best course of action. Utilizing your expertise in Vehicle Engineering to create hardware across various materials and manufacturing processes, including injection molding, castings, stampings, soft trim, and hard trim. You should possess:Experience in engineering vehicle structures and aesthetic A-Class components/assemblies with adherence to specifications such as stiffness, cost targets, and manufacturing timelines. Approximately 10 years of product design experience, having successfully launched multiple car platforms, ideally participating from early concept stages through to production launch.
