About the job
At SpaceX, we envision a future where humanity explores the cosmos, and we are committed to developing the technologies that will make this a reality, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER, SATELLITE PAYLOAD (STARLINK)
Starlink is the largest satellite constellation globally, providing high-speed internet access anywhere on Earth. Leveraging our expertise in rocket and spacecraft development, we deploy thousands of satellites each year, currently serving tens of millions of customers across more than 120 countries. Our team designs, builds, tests, and operates every component of the system— from satellite hardware to user antennas that connect seamlessly, and the software that unifies it all. As the Starlink constellation expands, it will feature increasingly advanced hardware, higher bandwidth, and a broader consumer base. We are in search of exceptional engineers to join us on this mission.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer within the satellite payload group, you will tackle intricate structural, thermal, and electromechanical challenges involving the space-grade hardware that powers our satellites. You will own the complete design lifecycle from ideation and design to testing, manufacturing, and large-scale production. Collaborating with various cross-functional engineering disciplines, you will play a key role in advancing the next generation of high-speed internet. This position will expose you to a diverse array of engineering challenges, including cutting-edge phased array antennas, gimballing parabolic antennas, actuators, and mechanisms. If you are passionate about mechanical engineering and have an interest in material science, electromagnetics, and microelectronics, join us in expanding the Starlink network and democratizing internet access worldwide.
