About the job

Join the Multiply Labs Team as a Mechanical Engineer!

Multiply Labs, a groundbreaking startup located in San Francisco, California, is backed by elite investors such as Casdin Capital, Lux Capital, and Y Combinator. Our vision is to create the world's most advanced robotic systems to facilitate the manufacturing of life-saving therapies.

We are at the forefront of transforming cell therapy production by innovating robotic technologies that automate and enhance the scalability of these critical medical treatments. Our solutions enable biopharmaceutical companies to efficiently produce cell therapies without extensive modifications to their existing processes, thereby lowering regulatory hurdles and costs. Traditional methods often exceed $1 million per patient—our robotics make these essential therapies more affordable and accessible.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer within Multiply Labs, you will leverage your engineering acumen and leadership skills to design consumable components for complex automated machinery. Your responsibilities will encompass designing robotic cartridges, adapters, and single-use fluid transfer sets that facilitate robotic integration with standard consumables used in cell therapy manufacturing (e.g., fluid transfer bags, bioreactors, cell isolators, reagent vials). You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team of hardware and software engineers to develop both current and future generations of our robotic systems, overseeing everything from component selection to prototype development and production. Success in this role hinges on your ability to iterate and optimize designs through first-principle engineering methodologies. With multiple exciting projects at various stages of development, strong documentation and organizational skills will be essential for facilitating effective decision-making and project coordination.

About Multiply Labs
