Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer at Astranis, you will play a pivotal role in the design, evaluation, testing, and assembly of spacecraft components and mechanical systems. A strong problem-solving aptitude, hands-on experience, and a passion for innovative design are essential. Experience with spacecraft, mechanisms, or composites is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test primary structures, bracketry, and mechanisms for Astranis spacecraft. This includes components made from both composite and metallic materials, utilizing various manufacturing processes.
  • Develop specifications for components and systems, including load requirements, interfaces, and functional criteria.
  • Conduct mechanical and thermal analysis for spacecraft systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate components and systems into the spacecraft, while documenting and refining processes to enhance future builds.
