Do you have a fervent passion for mathematics? Are you eager to spark curiosity and inspire young learners in a dynamic and collaborative classroom environment? If so, we have the ideal role for you!

As a Part-Time Math Instructor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering Engaging Curriculum: Utilize our specially designed curriculum to facilitate small group math classes for advanced students.
  • Fostering Student Engagement: Actively involve students in discussions and student-led learning activities.
  • Classroom Management: Effectively oversee a class size of up to 16 students.
  • Providing Feedback: Evaluate and give constructive feedback on student assessments.
  • Building Relationships: Develop meaningful connections with students and their families to positively influence their educational experiences.
  • Inspiring a Love for Learning: Cultivate enthusiasm for learning and enhance critical thinking skills in mathematics.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.

  • Robust knowledge of mathematical concepts.
  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring students.
  • Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.

Note:

  • A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.

Schedule (Academic Year):

  • AoPS Academy operates as an afterschool program with classes held in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (beginning as early as 4 PM) and/or on weekends.
  • This position requires an initial commitment of approximately 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
  • Each course meets once a week for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Schedule (Summer):

  • During summer, we offer multiple two-week camps running from June to August.
  • Summer camp classes take place Monday through Friday for 3 hours each day, with both morning and afternoon sessions available.

Campus Location:

This is an in-person position at our Irvine, CA location. Candidates must reside in Irvine or the surrounding areas and be able to commute to our campus.
