Your Responsibilities:

As a Materials Engineer, you will oversee defined workstreams in our laboratory: designing and conducting experiments, enhancing testing setups and procedures, and translating data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to implement results into design and process enhancements, while also receiving direction on priorities and overarching strategies. This position is based onsite at our Everett, WA office, reporting to the Materials Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute materials testing campaigns.

  • Lead investigations into failures of structural and polymer-based insulation systems and related components (including insulators, capacitor dielectrics, foils, oils, seals, and HV/electrical interfaces) as they relate to your area of work.

  • Develop and adhere to lab protocols and checklists for your designated testing areas.

  • Provide materials expertise for designs within your area of responsibility.

  • Act as a valuable team member within cross-functional teams and maintain regular communication.

  • Support and mentor lab technologists on specific testing methods and setups under your purview, while collaborating with peers to troubleshoot experiments and fixtures.
