Your Role

As a Material Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of Fluidstack's datacenter and infrastructure supply chain. This pivotal role involves managing the procurement of equipment, overseeing vendor interactions, tracking lead times, and coordinating logistics for timely deliveries.

The successful candidate will blend operational excellence with a technical mindset. You should possess a good understanding of industry components such as transformers and chillers, appreciate the significance of lead times for InfiniBand switches, and be adept at developing tools to ensure timely equipment arrivals. A passion for automation and a desire to optimize manual processes are essential.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of hardware purchase orders related to datacenter mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as compute, storage, and networking equipment, from issuance to delivery and inventory receipt.

  • Act as the primary liaison for hardware vendors and logistics partners, maintaining effective communication regarding lead times, shipping statuses, and issue resolution.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and tracking tools to provide infrastructure and finance teams with real-time insights into orders, transit statuses, and potential risks.

  • Automate repetitive data collection processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including vendor capacity assessments and lead time updates.

  • Coordinate inbound logistics with freight forwarders, customs agents, and data center teams to ensure timely deliveries and accurate documentation while integrating with our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS).

  • Proactively identify procurement risks such as supply constraints and shipping delays, providing context and options for resolution to stakeholders.
