Team Overview:
The Brain Interfaces Mechanical Engineering team is integral to the mechanical and manufacturing systems for our innovative implants, microfabricated thin-film electrodes, wireless chargers, and various associated accessories. This encompasses product design, electronics packaging integration, the design of manufacturing lines and facilities, test infrastructure, and related activities for our core products.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Neuralink, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing existing products and processes, troubleshooting issues, implementing updates, and ensuring long-term reliability. You will concentrate on creating efficient and scalable systems for the production of brain interfaces, with a strong emphasis on innovation and quality assurance. We are seeking a mechanical engineer passionate about manufacturing. Key responsibilities include:
- Defining project scopes and requirements to meet aggressive deadlines, ensuring timely completion from inception to implementation.
- Creating detailed designs using 3D CAD and 2D drawings, focusing on DFX and integration with the manufacturing line.
- Engaging in rapid prototyping with current technologies while developing or sourcing new capabilities.
- Identifying key vendors and fostering relationships to enhance our operational capabilities.
- Formulating, executing, and maintaining test plans and electro-mechanical test systems for product verification and validation across various stages, from components to full consumer electronic products.
- Identifying and addressing manufacturing constraints and yield issues.
- Collaborating with data acquisition and control systems to enhance in-test and in-process data recording and system usability.
- Providing insights into tooling and equipment design, ensuring effective development through to full-volume production.
- Defining requirements for major equipment purchases to enhance manufacturing and testing capabilities, becoming the subject matter expert and providing training as necessary.
