The R&D Formulation Manager/Principal Scientist will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge formulations and polymer materials for medical devices, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards. This pivotal role demands expertise in formulation development, enhancing internal capabilities to deliver innovative solutions, and aligning with Cresilon’s long-term technical vision to maintain a strong pipeline of customer-focused innovations.
Key responsibilities include leading the formulation development teams, recruiting and onboarding new talent, managing technical collaborations with external suppliers, and integrating formulations into scalable manufacturing processes, whether in-house or through CDMOs. The position operates in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, requiring adaptability, a focus on rigorous scientific formulation, and a commitment to exploring new technologies and techniques to create robust and innovative materials and products.
This senior technical role supervises a small team. The R&D Formulation Manager/Principal Scientist is expected to be a subject matter expert in polymer material science, formulation strategies, analytical chemistry, and biomaterial interactions with biological systems. Responsibilities also include ensuring high research practice standards, leading the creation of regulatory documentation, developing strategies for grants and publications, and securing non-dilutive funding through grant opportunities. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Technology.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Brooklyn, New York.
