Data and AI Platform Engineering Manager

In the role of Data and AI Platform Engineering Manager, you will spearhead the teams responsible for developing Guild's Data platform and Apollo, our AI platform that powers agent-based workflows, machine learning infrastructure, and AI-native tools throughout the organization. This is a leadership-oriented position (70% coaching, 30% hands-on) overseeing two small teams: Data Platform Engineering and AI Platform. Your primary influence will stem from the teams you cultivate and the systems you establish to ensure reliable delivery, while collaborating closely with product management, data science, and platform engineering to align with Guild's strategic objective of becoming an AI-native company by FY27.
The Opportunity
- Build, nurture, and retain a high-performing engineering team across two platform squads, overseeing hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Facilitate the shift from ad-hoc AI application to platform-driven, governed AI processes, championing Guild's vision for AI-native engineering.
- Deliver a dependable, scalable, and secure data and AI platform that enhances time-to-value for teams across Guild.
