Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience in multi-family housing, hospitality, or a related field. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license and EPA Certification preferred (to be obtained within the first six months of employment). Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and general maintenance. Excellent communication abilities with a focus on quality customer service. Proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish is an advantage. Basic computer skills and familiarity with budget management. Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously. Physical endurance for tasks requiring lifting up to 75 pounds.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining the quality and appearance of the Long Beach community. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position handles a range of technical and mechanical tasks to support building operations, amenities, and shared spaces. Professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong service mindset are essential in this role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs in apartments to prepare for new residents, including work on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances.
  • Respond to resident service requests and emergencies within 30 minutes.
  • Help plan and carry out preventative maintenance schedules and inspections.
  • Follow all safety procedures and comply with OSHA, EPA, and local requirements.
  • Maintain accurate pool and spa records, ensuring chemical safety and balance.
  • Inspect the community regularly, reporting repairs and supporting overall cleanliness and curb appeal.
  • Assist with tasks such as litter pick-up, snow, and ice removal when needed.
  • Work with the Service Manager and Community Manager on inventory management and meeting financial goals.
