About the job

Join us as a Licensed Architect specializing in the innovative design and execution of colocation and hyperscale cloud data center facilities. We are looking for a talented architect with a strong portfolio of managing intricate, mission-critical projects from initial concept through to commissioning. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the architectural framework of high-performance, secure, and scalable data center environments tailored to meet the dynamic needs of premier cloud and colocation clients.

This position allows for a flexible remote work schedule, and candidates can reside in various locations across the U. S. where AECOM has an office.

While the role is primarily remote, occasional travel may be necessary for client meetings, important project milestones, onsite collaborative sessions, or other essential business activities. Travel will be planned in advance and is expected to be infrequent.

This is a hands-on, client-facing position that offers potential for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead architectural design for large-scale hyperscale cloud data center and colocation projects, from concept development through construction administration and project closeout.
  • Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams, construction personnel, and external stakeholders to deliver fully coordinated and integrated design solutions.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation, ensuring adherence to codes, standards, and client design requirements.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate project delivery and ensure compliance.
  • Act as the architectural expert for hyperscale and colocation clients, focusing on operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability in facility design.
  • Guide and mentor junior architects and designers, promoting technical excellence and design innovation.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in data center design.
  • Support business development initiatives, proposal writing, and conceptual architectural designs for new projects.
