Role Overview: Lead Systems Engineer – Low Observability Materials & Shaping
This position calls for a systems engineer who specializes in low observability (LO) materials and shaping. The engineer will work closely with experts from different fields to address advanced defense challenges. The main focus is on integrating innovative materials and shaping techniques into air vehicle structures to meet strict survivability standards.
What You Will Do
- Develop radar cross-section (RCS) and infrared (IR) material concepts for air vehicles, ensuring seamless integration with structural design.
- Design and execute a technology maturation roadmap for LO materials and related supplier components.
- Work with suppliers to create RCS and IR concepts for components such as antennas and EO/IR windows, and initiate development activities as needed.
- Oversee supplier and testing efforts to confirm that RCS and IR performance requirements are achieved.
- Coordinate with partners and suppliers to iteratively refine air vehicle shapes, improving RCS and IR characteristics through ongoing calculations and adjustments.
