Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Security Software Engineer to uphold the security and integrity of systems and data within both commercial and Department of Defense (DoD) environments. This hands-on role will involve designing and managing secure systems, closely collaborating with software teams, and safeguarding vital flight safety technologies while adhering to relevant security standards.
What You’ll Do
Design and deploy secure architectures across applications, cloud infrastructure, and data systems.
Safeguard sensitive data through robust access management, encryption, and secure data handling practices.
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate security vulnerabilities through assessments, penetration testing, and comprehensive security reviews.
Lead incident response initiatives, including detection, containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis.
Incorporate security best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by collaborating with software engineering teams.
Establish and manage security monitoring and logging systems to detect and respond to threats in real-time.
What Will Make You Successful
5–9 years of hands-on experience in security engineering roles, focusing on securing complex systems and data.
Deep understanding of security principles, threat modeling, and defensive security methodologies.
Familiarity with common security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and encryption tools.
Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, and CMMC.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with software engineers to design secure systems.
Proactive mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
