Position Overview & Responsibilities
As the lead for the Optical Payload team at Logos Space, you will be pivotal in defining the specification, integration, and testing of cutting-edge optical payloads for our satellite missions. The Optical Payload engineering team is crucial in guaranteeing the success of our network by providing both in-space intersatellite network terminals and precise time-transfer/positioning capabilities. Additionally, you will oversee the development of necessary facilities and ground support equipment.
You may also be responsible for leading the design and development of unique subsystems that are not available for procurement. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise in optical communications, precise timing, and ranging systems, coupled with exceptional leadership skills. This role is essential in shaping and executing our technical roadmap for advanced optical payload technologies, such as high-speed inter-satellite links, optical time transfer, and laser ranging systems.
We seek innovative engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments, capable of transforming abstract design concepts into functional hardware ready for testing and implementation. If you are passionate about tackling complex challenges, we invite you to apply!
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assembling a diverse team focused on technology development for Optical Inter-Satellite Links (OISL) applications, integration of both internal and external systems, and large-scale manufacturing of integrated solutions.
Overseeing all optical payload operations, including budget, timeline, and performance metrics, within a dynamic startup context.
Leading the comprehensive development lifecycle of satellite optical payloads, from specification through to detailed design, analysis, and validation.
