Your Impact
Epic Games is seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our Gameplay Analytics team. In this role, you will head a team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers, overseeing the complete life cycle of data asset creation, reports, and insights that influence the strategic direction across Epic’s diverse portfolio, particularly our Shooter Games (Battle Royale, Reload, OG, Blitz). The ideal candidate will leverage a variety of data technologies, statistical approaches, and visualization techniques to guide development and product teams, manage a small team, and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design, game development, and product management teams to identify opportunities for our first-party games and the business, utilizing data to establish metrics and insights that inform strategic execution.
- Engage with engineering and data platform teams to accurately define and capture the data necessary for deriving insights and building data models.
- Convert raw data into meaningful data models, production metrics, reports, and actionable insights.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of metrics and ensure alignment with long-term ecosystem growth objectives.
- Partner with design, product, and analytics teams to rigorously design, test, and learn from experiments that enhance our games.
- Lead a small team of data analysts, providing mentorship and setting the strategic direction for our analytics initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, demonstrating a strong interest in and understanding of live service video games.
- At least 2 years of experience managing a team of data professionals.
