About the job

Universally Speaking is seeking a LATAM Spanish Games Tester to join the team in Madrid. This position centers on linguistic quality assurance for video games, with a focus on language accuracy and cultural relevance for players. The role requires hands-on testing and regular collaboration with localization teams to uphold high standards in game localization.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with testers, translators, and developers to spot, report, and help resolve language-related issues within games.
  • Review all in-game language elements, including menus and messages, to confirm accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
  • Apply Universally Speaking’s linguistic quality assurance (LQA) methods to meet industry standards.
  • Log and track linguistic bugs using professional bug databases, ensuring that fixes meet expectations.
  • Develop expertise in LQA by managing projects ranging from indie releases to major AAA titles through all phases of the testing cycle.
  • Create and refine test cases, document findings, and contribute to best practices in LQA.
  • Work closely with developers and other testers early in the process to help shape localization testing procedures.
  • Identify workflow improvements, share insights, and help raise quality standards within the team.
