Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Lab Manager to be the pivotal force in our hardware development operations. This multifaceted role involves setting up lab spaces, ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety standards, and collaborating with various teams on prototyping and quality assurance. If you are organized, safety-conscious, and enjoy the hands-on aspects of hardware engineering, this role is designed for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee facilities and lab operations
- Lead the design and establishment of new lab spaces, coordinating with contractors on electrical, HVAC, and plumbing requirements tailored for medical device testing
- Act as the primary contact for local authorities to obtain necessary permits related to building, environment, and operations
- Manage general office and lab facility needs
- Handle equipment and inventory management
- Coordinate the installation, regular maintenance, and urgent repairs of specialized lab equipment
- Ensure a strict calibration schedule is maintained for all research and development and manufacturing equipment to meet quality benchmarks
- Develop and enforce safety protocols, including chemical hygiene plans, hazardous waste management, and personal protective equipment requirements
- Support engineering by keeping organized records of equipment manuals, safety data sheets (SDS), and maintenance logs
- Manage shipping and receiving logistics; inspect and store incoming packages
- Maintain organized and clearly labeled stockrooms, cabinets, and shared equipment areas
