About Focused Energy
Focused Energy is at the forefront of laser-driven fusion technology, striving to create a future powered by clean and unlimited fusion energy. With our main offices located in Darmstadt, Germany, and the San Francisco Bay Area, we unite elite scientists and engineers to harness proven technologies aimed at achieving commercial-scale fusion power.
Our mission extends beyond the development of long-term transformative solutions; we also aim to tackle immediate global challenges. Our SourceLight initiative is revolutionizing the field with compact, laser-driven radiation sources (LDRS) that integrate MeV X-rays and fast neutrons, facilitating real-time, non-destructive examination of intricate or shielded materials. This cutting-edge technology addresses pressing issues in nuclear waste management, contraband detection, infrastructure evaluation, and medical isotope production.
We are a diverse team of experts in laser and plasma physics, engineering, and artificial intelligence, currently in the process of establishing our first pilot facility in Biblis, Germany. Join us to play a pivotal role in shaping this revolutionary deep-tech venture from its inception!
Your Role as a Working Student in Mechatronics
As a Working Student in the Mechatronics department, you will be instrumental in the design and development of critical components for our laser-driven radiation source, ensuring optimal system performance.
