Position Overview:
The Workers’ Compensation Program Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing Foster Farms’ workers’ compensation initiatives. This position entails coordinating with third-party administrators (TPA) and collaborating with essential stakeholders to ensure that claims are resolved in a timely, accurate, and equitable manner. The Program Manager is dedicated to fostering a culture of care and compliance, while strategically managing claims to mitigate risks, control expenses, and facilitate successful recovery outcomes for employees who sustain injuries. This role also involves leading efforts to identify injury trends, recommending preventive strategies, and maintaining high-quality claims management practices that adhere to company policies and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with TPA and insurance partners to ensure compliance and efficient claims processing.
- Collaborate with legal representatives on complex claims, including mediations and settlements.
- Work closely with HR, Operations, and Safety teams to enhance return-to-work programs, prevent injuries, and conduct incident investigations.
- Lead quarterly claims reviews to assess performance and foster continuous improvement.
- Monitor TPA adherence to contracts, service standards, and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Design and track key performance indicators to optimize outcomes, minimize costs, and enhance program effectiveness.
- Act as an advocate for injured employees, promoting fairness and accountability in the claims management process.
- Provide training and support to field leaders on incident management and best practices.
- Stay informed on changes in workers’ compensation laws and state regulations to maintain compliance.
- Oversee reserving practices, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
- Review and authorize adjuster settlement requests and reserve increases as appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal leadership (Operations, HR, Legal, Risk Management) and external partners (TPA, insurers, medical providers, consultants) for effective claims management.
