Vice President of Accounting (Chief Accounting Officer)
Location: Phoenix, East Valley – Hybrid (Fridays work from anywhere)
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Join a vibrant, publicly traded organization with multiple locations as the Vice President of Accounting. This company stands out as a leader in the specialty consumer products sector, boasting an impressive annual revenue of approximately $1 billion.
We are on the lookout for a visionary accounting leader to spearhead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives while ensuring the accounting infrastructure is both robust and modernized. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the CFO as a critical member of the finance leadership team, taking ownership of daily accounting operations and governance throughout the organization.
Lead Accounting Operations
You will supervise all corporate and financial reporting functions, initially leading the Corporate Accounting and Consolidations group, with plans to expand into operational accounting and Tax. Your role will include establishing standardized accounting policies across all locations while facilitating the centralization of accounting functions into the corporate office.
Drive Transformation & Innovation
Take the lead on enterprise-wide initiatives aimed at centralization, standardization, and automation. You will modernize accounting systems, ERP platforms, and close automation tools, while also redesigning monthly close processes to boost speed, accuracy, and transparency.
Ensure Compliance & Control
You will be responsible for internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) and SOX compliance, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP and public company standards. In this capacity, you will act as the primary accounting advisor to executive leadership and the Audit Committee, collaborating with the CFO on complex accounting judgments and disclosures.
Build High-Performing Teams
Your mission will include developing and mentoring a skilled accounting team capable of thriving in a public company environment. You will define clear roles and performance metrics while fostering future accounting leaders through effective succession planning.
Support Strategic Initiatives
Provide oversight for SEC reporting, assist with earnings cycles and investor reporting, and manage quarterly reviews and annual audits. You will collaborate with IT, FP&A, Shared Services, and Accounting Operations to create scalable financial systems that support growth and acquisitions.
