We are seeking a passionate Utilities Systems Specialist to join our Engineering Asset Management team, playing a vital role in the operation and maintenance of essential utilities systems within our new GMP manufacturing facility located in beautiful Vancouver. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with various teams including manufacturing operations, process engineering, and quality control. As the Chief Boiler Power Engineer, as designated by Technical Safety BC, you will serve as the primary liaison with Technical Safety BC for permit compliance and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert for boilers and process vessels, ensuring compliance with Technical Safety BC standards.
- Oversee the daily monitoring and operation of all utilities equipment and systems (boilers, chillers, air handling units, water for injection, compressed air, clean gases), including responding to BMS alarms.
- Execute work orders pertaining to routine maintenance and both planned and unplanned repairs for utilities equipment using the CMMS e-system.
- Manage the shutdown and restart of utilities systems during significant maintenance activities or unplanned power outages, adhering to internal safety and quality protocols.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for utilities systems that interface with manufacturing processes and quality control equipment.
- Recommend improvements for the operation of utilities and base building equipment.
- Mentor and develop utility technicians to ensure they possess the requisite skills and knowledge for safe and effective operations.
- Flexibility to perform shift work may be required based on business needs to minimize facility downtime.
