Join Wright Tree Service as a Tree Climber, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and safety of our community's trees. Your responsibilities will include climbing to trim or remove trees using various equipment such as ladders, safety belts, climbing lines, and powered trimmer lift trucks. You will work from the ground using saws and pruners, ensuring branches and trunk sections are safely cut and lowered using ropes.
As a Tree Climber, you will also manage the loading and unloading of logs, stumps, brush, and debris onto trucks, while efficiently operating wood chippers. Your role includes preventative measures such as spraying stumps and brush to inhibit regrowth, and repairing any minor damage caused to lawns, fences, and pathways due to tree maintenance activities.
In this position, you will be expected to maintain communication through hand signals, direct traffic as needed, and keep work areas and trucks organized and clean. You'll also have the opportunity to train new team members on safe practices and procedures. Safety is paramount; you will ensure the well-being of your colleagues and the public by setting up barriers and warning signs, particularly when working near roadways.
The Tree Climber position requires you to be adept in performing tree and bucket rescues and taking responsibility for the condition of your tools and equipment. You will be exposed to various weather conditions and natural elements, including insects and rough terrain. This role demands that you enforce safety practices rigorously while maintaining the equipment in optimal working condition.
