Essential Qualifications:- Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Med Surg RN.
- Active RN license compliant with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- NIHSS certification.
- ACLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Additional certifications and licenses may be required for this role.
The Med Surg Registered Nurse will provide exceptional, patient-focused care in medical-surgical and telemetry units. Responsibilities include assessing patient health, monitoring telemetry data, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address diverse patient needs. This position demands strong clinical skills, critical thinking, excellent communication, and a commitment to the highest standards of patient safety and ethics.
Key Responsibilities:- Explain procedures and treatments to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and addressing concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in line with nursing standards.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient conditions, documenting changes and communicating concerns to the care team.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable recovery environment for patients.
- Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Manage multiple patients effectively, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
- Advocate for patient needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected in care plans.
- Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients, families, and external resources for smooth transitions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
