We are actively seeking a skilled Trading Systems Operations Engineer to play a crucial role in the support and enhancement of our production systems infrastructure. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient operation and outstanding performance of our trading systems as we scale operations. You will be responsible for monitoring systems, responding to incidents, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing system performance.
The ideal candidate will work closely with traders, developers, quantitative analysts, and business teams to facilitate their initiatives and ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor trading systems and associated infrastructure to guarantee optimal performance and reliability.
- Proactively detect and resolve potential issues to minimize downtime and maximize system efficiency.
- Quickly respond to system alerts and incidents, investigating root causes and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze system performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Execute performance tuning strategies to enhance system responsiveness and throughput.
- Collaborate with software developers and system architects to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
- Provide technical and analytical support to Research, Accounting, Investor Relations, and Compliance teams, including troubleshooting and ad hoc analysis of production data.
- Assist in the implementation of new trading functionalities, such as new asset classes or new prime brokers, including establishing FIX sessions, file encryption, and FTP setups.
- Participate in on-call support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a systems operations engineer.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration and scripting languages, such as Python and Shell.
- Prior experience in a similar role within the financial services industry is advantageous.
