Role Overview:
As a Technical Program Manager specializing in battery technology, you will lead the development and implementation of high-voltage battery projects centered around the prismatic cell form factor. You will collaborate closely with customers and diverse cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful delivery of battery systems that uphold our stringent standards for performance, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of battery pack projects from conception through production.
- Work with customers, sales, and engineering teams to delineate technical requirements, establish project timelines, and allocate necessary resources for project success.
- Coordinate with a multi-cultural R&D team to integrate the latest battery technology innovations into product designs.
- Manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle, formulating and executing mitigation strategies to achieve project goals.
- Facilitate communication among teams spanning customer relations, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to ensure alignment and resolve technical challenges.
- Track project progress, making adjustments to plans and resources as needed to meet deadlines and budget parameters.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Act as a technical liaison between the organization, suppliers, and external partners to guarantee that technical specifications and quality benchmarks are met.
- Prepare and deliver project updates, technical evaluations, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes affecting high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles.
Desired Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of pack and component design integration, particularly in new welding structures, component design, and external CAN design.
- Experience guiding product design engineering responsibilities throughout the entire development process, from initial quoting to mass production.
- Proficient in utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to enhance and manage project documentation and workflows.
- Demonstrated experience conducting milestone reviews for program development, ensuring alignment with both internal and external stakeholder requirements.
