As a Team Supervisor at SGS, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Site Leader and Assistant Site Leader in guiding and overseeing the operations of all SGS employees within the designated site(s). Your responsibilities encompass ensuring compliance with SGS and customer policies and procedures while maintaining a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient operational environment entrusted to SGS by our clients.
• Provide clear and specific daily directions to SGS employees regarding their work activities.
• Address and resolve day-to-day production and process challenges within the department.
• Ensure that all personnel under your supervision have received proper orientation and possess the necessary knowledge for their safety and health at work.
• Guarantee that every team member has adequate information, resources, and materials to perform their job safely.
• Conduct daily tailgate meetings with shift employees before work commences.
• Assist in organizing monthly safety meetings for all employees, including agenda preparation and distributing meeting minutes company-wide.
• Manage absence, vacation, and relief coverage scheduling across all areas as needed.
• Aid the Site Leader in administering “for cause” and post-incident alcohol screens.
• Support the Site Leader in meeting timekeeping requirements for the Contractor Data Management System (CDMS) and ensure timely submission of weekly timesheets.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Potentially coordinate special or ad hoc projects, dedicating up to 50% of your time to these initiatives.
• Ensure that all necessary safety equipment is in place daily.
• Assist the Site Leader in conducting initial incident investigations related to SGS operations.
• Support the Site Leader in ensuring all employees receive proper training and certification in compliance with MOT, OSHA, TDG, MARSEC, and customer guidelines.
• Collaborate with the client to develop and update operational procedures for the facility.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer behavior-based observations (BBO/TLO).
• In partnership with the Site Leader and Human Resources, recommend and enforce employee discipline as necessary.
• Spend approximately 90% of your working hours in the field providing support to workers.
• Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including indirect reports and peers.
• Responsible for hiring and termination decisions.
