The Team You'll Be Part Of:
The Content and Knowledge Management (CKM) team is dedicated to crafting, editing, and overseeing support content and metadata utilized by Airbnb customers, Community Support (CS) representatives, and various applications. Key knowledge resources maintained by the CKM include the Help Center, Knowledge Center (with localized versions for CJK), Macros repository, and Contact Reasons taxonomy.
Your Impact:
As the Taxonomy and Ontology Manager (TOM), you will lead Airbnb’s Community Support Taxonomy team in developing and managing scalable taxonomies, ontologies, and structured data. Reporting directly to the head of CKM, you will work within the Service Enablement organization, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to provide strategic leadership in taxonomy, ontology, metadata management, information architecture, and knowledge modeling across the company.
A Day in Your Role:
Management Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership to establish long-term strategic initiatives
- Offer guidance, coaching, and professional support to Taxonomists and Ontologists
- Engage in people management and administrative tasks as part of CKM and Service Enablement leadership teams
- Direct strategy related to taxonomy, ontology, information architecture, metadata management, and knowledge modeling within the CS organization
- Consult with CS stakeholders to ensure alignment and effectiveness of taxonomy initiatives
