Position Summary: 2ND SHIFTAs a Material Handler, you will play a key role in storing, moving, and managing products and materials. You will work in a structured and safety-focused environment that emphasizes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Reliability and adherence to safety standards are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, transport, pack, remove, and dispose of products and materials efficiently.
- Operate equipment including forklifts, handcarts, and pallet jacks to facilitate order picking, replenishing, and loading/unloading.
- Maintain inventory levels as directed and ensure timely feeding of production lines with products.
- Receive and ship materials during your shift, ensuring all equipment is operated safely.
- Accurately count and record units or materials handled.
- Ensure proper identification and labeling of all products moved.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, adhering to 5S standards.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with GMPs or a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days.
- Experience operating stand-up and extended forklifts is preferred.
- Basic math skills are essential.
- Understanding and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient in reading and writing in English is preferred.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in material handling is a plus, depending on location.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to various machines, noise levels, and temperature variations.
- Collaborative team setting requiring respectful and professional communication.
- Availability to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms throughout the day.
- Able to lift up to 90 lbs with assistance and 40 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stand for up to 80% of the scheduled time.
- Capable of walking, climbing, and balancing throughout the shift.
