A Day in the Life
As a Sales Associate, you will be at the forefront of providing exceptional customer service, welcoming customers, and guiding them with your knowledge of fashion and products. You will ensure the store is well-maintained by restocking clothing and maintaining displays. Together with your team, you contribute to an optimal customer experience.
Working at H&M means that no two days are the same, but a typical day includes the following responsibilities:
Sales and Profit:
- Delivering excellent customer service: welcoming customers and assisting them in navigating the store & OMNI experience once available, providing direct customer service support.
- Engaging with customers to familiarize them with our fashion trends, narratives & products throughout the store, thereby offering outstanding service.
- Actively promoting our customer loyalty app (Hello Member) & sustainability initiatives in the store.
- Collaborating with the store management team to support commercial or operational initiatives to achieve sales targets.
- Positively representing yourself and the H&M brand during all customer interactions.
Team & Development:
- Maintaining and sharing your knowledge and skills in service, fashion, and store operations with colleagues.
- Providing and receiving feedback with your colleagues to learn, develop, and support each other.
- Participating in relevant available training such as onboarding, introductory processes & trainings, and courses pertinent to your role and future growth.
Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution:
- Completing the entire clothing cycle from unpacking to restocking, ensuring proper garment care, and stock levels with replenishment routines on the sales floor.
- Operating fitting rooms and cash registers according to H&M standards and procedures.
- Contributing to a clean and tidy sales floor (including stock areas).
- Assisting with garment presentation, executing and maintaining attractive displays, clear trends, and stories according to visual and commercial guidelines.
- Keeping track of and following best practices for all in-store OMNI Services & in-store technical services/tools (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc).
- Assisting in opening and closing the store.
- Adhering to all H&S guidelines and legal requirements applicable to the role and responsibilities.
