Role Overview

In the role of Staff Engineer, you will define the technical vision and elevate our execution standards while fostering a high-achieving team. Your responsibilities will include steering the architecture and delivery of contemporary full-stack systems (React 19 + Node.js), developing sustainable engineering practices, and ensuring rapid deployment without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture a talented engineering team, focusing on hiring, mentorship, performance management, and career progression.
- Define and advance the technical strategy for developer platforms, dashboards, and internal tools.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to achieve roadmap objectives with speed and craftsmanship.
- Establish and uphold engineering standards encompassing code quality, testing, documentation, security, and operational excellence.
- Oversee delivery health, including sprint hygiene, predictable execution, and robust on-call/incident protocols.
- Drive architectural decisions across front-end and back-end (with a preference for tRPC), as well as deployment strategies (Docker + CI/CD).
- Foster a culture of ownership, constructive feedback, and continuous improvement within teams.
Ideal Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of software development experience, including at least 2-4 years in leadership roles (Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, Head of Engineering).
- Deep understanding of full-stack development (React + Node.js), current front-end methodologies, SSR/performance, and API design.
- Experience in deploying and managing production systems (cloud, CI/CD, observability, incident management).
- Demonstrated ability to balance rapid execution with quality in dynamic startup environments.
- Excellent communication skills, strong judgment, and a proven history of mentoring engineers.
