Position Overview
We are on the lookout for a talented Design for Reliability (DfR) Engineer to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the reliability and durability of mechatronic systems, electric motors, and structural components throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will spearhead reliability engineering methodologies such as DFMEA, physics-of-failure analysis, accelerated test planning, and risk modeling. Collaboration across various teams—including design, validation, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality—is crucial to ensure our humanoid robots achieve industry-leading reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead DFMEA activities for intricate mechatronic assemblies.
- Utilize physics-of-failure principles to pinpoint and reduce core reliability risks.
- Create accelerated test plans including stress modeling, damage modeling, and life prediction.
- Employ reliability statistics to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with design engineers to propose design enhancements driven by reliability considerations.
- Engage cross-functionally to evaluate risks, establish mitigation plans, and validate design integrity.
- Review and guide the reliability strategy across motors, actuators, structural components, and electronics.
- Perform root cause analysis on failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Consolidate findings and reliability models into concise, actionable reports.
