Position: Space Propulsion Systems Engineer
Join the innovative team at Busek Co. Inc. as a Space Propulsion Systems Engineer, where your expertise will drive the development of advanced in-space propulsion technologies. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and management of specifications tailored to meet our customers' needs for electric propulsion products. Your contributions will span systems engineering, reliability analysis, and failure management, ensuring the successful execution of complex technical projects.
Busek is a recognized leader in aerospace propulsion, dedicated to addressing the challenges of space exploration.
Your impact will include:
- Developing and maintaining Critical Item Lists (CIL), Reliability Analyses, and conducting Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
- Executing Process and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA/DFMEA).
- Creating and maintaining Declared Parts List (DPL) and Declared Materials List (DML).
- Conducting system analysis and providing engineering oversight alongside internal and external experts.
- Leading comprehensive project requirements development, verification/validation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborating with team leaders and customers on technical specifications across Busek’s product line.
- Performing trade studies assessing product capability, performance, cost, and schedule.
- Documenting project status through regular reports and technical reviews.
Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess any of the following qualifications; complete possession of all is not required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
- A strong foundation in Systems Engineering principles and processes.
- Experience with reliability analysis and failure management techniques (FMECA, PFMEA/DFMEA).
- Familiarity with requirements management and configuration management practices.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret customer technical requirements and collaborate with diverse engineering teams.
- Experience managing complex technical programs.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or a protected individual.
- Willingness to obtain a security clearance (up to TS/SCI).
