About the job
Navigating the procurement landscape has become increasingly complex, even for the most forward-thinking organizations. Globally, enterprises allocate over $120 trillion annually (more than 30 times the annual consumer e-commerce spending), heavily relying on vendors to streamline their operations.
Founded in 2020, Zip was established to tackle this intricate challenge with an innovative procurement platform designed for simplicity and usability, akin to consumer-grade experiences. In just four years, we've carved out a new niche and emerged as a leader in a market valued at over $50 billion. Prestigious companies such as OpenAI, Snowflake, Anthropic, Coinbase, and Prudential trust Zip to manage substantial budgets effectively.
Our exceptional team is comprised of professionals hailing from industry giants like Airbnb, Meta, Stripe, Salesforce, Apple, and Google. With a valuation of $2.2 billion and $370 million in investments from Y Combinator, Tiger Global, BOND, DST Global, and CRV, we are committed to advancing innovative technologies, exploring new global markets, and delivering exceptional value to our clients. We invite you to be part of our journey!
Your Role
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in developing Zip's foundational products and architecture. You will contribute immediately usable features while collaborating closely with a dynamic team that prioritizes open communication and teamwork. Our fast-paced environment presents diverse technical and product challenges, and while our experienced team is here to offer guidance and mentorship, we seek engineers who are eager to tackle complex technical problems independently.
Previous interns have successfully contributed to:
An Internal AI Bot: Utilizing generative AI to aggregate information from various sources (e.g., Google Docs, Notion, Slack, Zip Help Site) to provide real-time answers; actively used by engineering and customer teams.
Devbox: Developing a prototype to streamline the development environment in AWS for all Zip engineers, now utilized by over 80 engineers.
Virtual Card Auto Lock: A feature that automatically secures virtual cards based on defined policies (e.g., expiration dates, reported loss, or overdraft situations); now live in our virtual card product alongside a self-serve onboarding tool.
You Will
Design and implement robust, reliable products and features.
Collaborate intensively with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
