About the job
At Simular, we prioritize creating intuitive and engaging experiences for users interacting with our AI agents through our cross-platform desktop client. While it resembles a chat interface, it offers advanced functionalities including symbolic code generation, debugging tools, and execution panels. Our goal is to ensure that using this application is as seamless and enjoyable as the most refined productivity applications.
We are in search of a dedicated Frontend/Application Engineer with a keen eye for design and a passion for user experience. This role involves crafting the very environments our users engage with daily, where your contributions directly influence the design and functionality of our applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of our cross-platform desktop application, continuously evolving the client experience by designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces for AI interaction, code editing, and task management.
Investigate new interaction patterns to simplify the use of powerful AI tools, making them feel intuitive and natural.
Collaborate across various layers of development, from user-facing interfaces to system integrations with native APIs as required.
There is potential to expand your work into mobile or web applications, owning your projects from UI through to business logic, including BFF APIs and backend components when necessary.
Ideal Candidate:
You possess the ability to create beautiful, functional applications with a strong commitment to user experience.
Your experience spans some of the following areas: desktop frameworks, web/mobile development, or native APIs, but you are adaptable and open to working with various technology stacks.
You have engaged in personal projects or side applications that exemplify your design sensibility and ownership.
Your enthusiasm for both design intricacies and technical depth sets you apart.
Bonus points for having a portfolio of design-focused applications, experience in bridging web and native technologies, or prior work on developer tools or productivity software.
