Position Summary & Objective
We are excited to invite a talented Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team based in either Elizabethtown, KY, or Lansing, MI. This role entails traveling to customer facilities to lead, manage, and engage in hands-on work related to the disassembly, repair, and assembly of various subassemblies or complete mechanical and/or forging presses.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to by the team, requiring the use of all necessary PPE at all times.
- Lead and supervise both customer and Enprotech personnel during maintenance and press repair activities.
- Act as a liaison at customer sites for daily operations and project planning.
- Assemble, repair, and reconstruct manufacturing equipment from component parts according to standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other instructions to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Disassemble and reassemble metal forming presses, which includes rigging, fitting, scraping, grinding, and adjustment tasks.
- Install lubrication blocks, lines, and plumbing systems including pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic lubrication systems to identify necessary repairs for restoring functionality.
- Align machinery and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- Utilize basic hand tools including ratchets, impacts, torque multipliers, hydraulic torque wrenches, magnetic drills, and hydraulic jacks.
- Ensure parts are properly prepared, deburred, and free of defects prior to assembly.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet established standards using inspection tools and devices.
- Operate small lathes and mills for polishing small parts and creating keys.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other rigging equipment as necessary.
