Essel Environmental is actively seeking a dedicated Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) to join our team.
As an SSHO, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all projects adhere to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to safeguard employee well-being, ensure compliance with safety standards, and provide insights for enhancing safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities of the SSHO
The following are some of the key responsibilities associated with this role, though others may arise depending on specific project needs:
- Gather and maintain Safety Data Sheets.
- Perform monthly inspections of eye wash stations.
- Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
- Oversee monthly checks of first aid kits.
- Facilitate safety orientations for new employees.
- Investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents.
- Carry out daily equipment inspections.
- Enforce the contractor’s safety program.
- Inspect sites and personnel work to identify safety compliance issues.
- Ensure the site remains hazard-free.
- Maintain compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan.
- Obtain, post, and keep burn permits as required.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections.
- Lead daily safety briefings.
- Address all safety concerns promptly.
- Intervene to stop any unsafe actions or processes.
- Provide training on specific safety issues when necessary.
