Intuitive Surgical is on the lookout for a Senior Systems Analyst to become a vital part of our Future Forward Research group. This team is dedicated to investigating innovative technologies that will shape the future of robot-assisted medical interventions and surgical applications.
The Senior Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of advanced controllers and algorithms that assess novel instrument concepts and visualization techniques for our cutting-edge surgical robots and platforms. This role involves the integration and evaluation of fully functional prototypes, driving the conversion of innovative concepts into market-ready products.
In addition, this position offers analytic support to other engineering teams, aiding in the design of systems, software architectures, and interfaces. The analyst will keep abreast of research and technological advancements in secure telerobotics and safety-critical systems, applying this knowledge to enhance system design.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for system software, algorithm development, associated tooling, and infrastructure aimed at exploring and creating new surgical platforms.
- Design and validate distributed electro-mechanical systems and dynamic models through focused experimentation.
- Create and implement software algorithms, tools, and infrastructure for novel products.
- Integrate mechanical, hardware, and software components for product development.
- Utilize control system design methodologies to prototype and validate innovative medical robotic systems.
- Conduct thorough testing, safety assessments, and performance monitoring throughout the development process.
- Lead early-stage systems engineering development, requirement translation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop sensor and control strategies to improve robotic system performance and meet user requirements.
- Implement best practices in software engineering and maintain detailed documentation.
- Identify, document, and communicate intellectual property generated during the development process.
