We empower collectors to buy, sell, store, and finance their cards seamlessly, supported by industry leaders such as Stripe, Coinbase, Seven Seven Six, and renowned athletes like Tom Brady and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Our next challenge is to develop real-time pricing at scale—the Alt Value that drives every transaction, loan, and product within our platform.
The Role
Are you an accomplished Machine Learning Engineer eager to take ownership of a pivotal function within a dynamic startup? In this role, you will oversee Alt's primary card pricing model, an essential engine that automates our cash advance decisions, drives our risk assessment framework, and facilitates card valuations that collectors depend on for market analysis. You'll leverage your expertise in data science and ML operations to enhance model accuracy and optimize our infrastructure for scalability and cost efficiency.
What You Will Do
- Optimize our pricing model to significantly decrease infrastructure costs while enhancing accuracy, especially for high-value cards.
- Refine our underwriting model to maximize cash advance payouts while upholding target risk thresholds and default rates.
- Lead the entire Machine Learning lifecycle, from model training and feature generation to production deployment and monitoring.
- Work closely with our Expert Pricers to become a domain authority in the trading card market and inform model enhancements.
- Design and conduct experiments and backtesting to identify and validate new features that bolster the model's predictive capabilities.
- Manage the model's AWS infrastructure, writing code for our pricing API to ensure it operates at scale and with minimal latency.
