Mission
As a Senior Solutions Architect at Databricks, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. Our team is well-versed in cloud technologies, data engineering, analytics, data science, machine learning, and AI. You will leverage open source projects like Apache Spark™, Delta Lake, and MLflow to enhance your expertise and contribute to the success of our customers.
This is a customer-facing position where you will collaborate with clients, team members, product teams, post-sales support, and partners to identify use cases, develop architecture and solutions, and guide customers through successful implementations, leading to impactful business outcomes. Building strong relationships with customers, nurturing champions, and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor will be key aspects of your role. You will report to a Field Engineering Manager within our Financial Services team.
Your Impact:
- Collaborate with the sales team to demonstrate how Databricks can address customer challenges.
- Provide technical leadership to clients in evaluating and adopting Databricks.
- Consult on big data architecture, execute proof of concepts for strategic projects, and validate integrations with cloud services and third-party applications.
- Create and present reference architectures, how-tos, and application demonstrations for clients.
- Promote open source projects (Apache Spark™, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog) within developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars.
- Travel to meet customers in your designated territory.
What We Are Looking For:
- 10+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role, ideally with big data technologies addressing data engineering and analytics challenges.
- Proven experience in designing and architecting distributed data systems.
- Proficient in programming and debugging in at least one of the following: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
- Experience with global system integrators, consulting firms, or technology providers in the financial services sector is a plus.
- Hands-on experience building solutions with major public cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with Data Engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
