About the Role
As a Senior Payroll Services Associate, your primary responsibility will be to ensure our clients enjoy a seamless and timely experience when managing data transfers between their payroll providers and Betterment. You will act as a trusted advisor and resource for clients integrating their payroll systems with Betterment’s employer benefits platform.
This role requires close collaboration with various internal teams, including Client Experience, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Onboarding. The ideal candidate will possess strong client-facing skills, a solid understanding of payroll practices, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Excel.
This position is based in our NYC headquarters, where we require in-office attendance from Monday to Thursday each week. Below is the base salary range for this role. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. The listed range is one component of Betterment’s comprehensive total compensation package.
- New York City: $90,000 - $100,000

A Day in the Life
- Engage directly with clients to set up their payroll integration and manage their payroll data files within the Betterment platform.
- Develop a thorough understanding of payroll provider integrations and audit incoming payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize effective problem-solving and decision-making skills to address and resolve issues.
- Carefully assess data discrepancies and independently make necessary adjustments, understanding their impact on client payroll and employee paychecks.
