Position Details:
Band 6
Salary Range: £38,682 - £46,580 pro rata, per annum
The successful candidates will have the option of rotational and static urgent care therapy roles, with discussions on preference based on individual suitability.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist within our Therapy Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital, you will be at the forefront of providing exceptional patient assessment and treatment in areas such as Acute Stroke, Older Person’s Medicine, Urgent Care, Orthopaedics, and Surgery.
Located in the picturesque county of Hampshire, near the vibrant city of Portsmouth, you’ll enjoy the best of both city life and serene rural surroundings. With London just an hour away and Southampton, Chichester, and Winchester also within easy reach, this is an ideal place to live and work.
In this role, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills in both acute rehabilitation and complex discharge planning. You will need to be adaptable, confident, and possess excellent communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored treatment plans to enhance patient independence.
- Engage in discharge planning, including complex cases, ensuring safe and effective transitions of care.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Manage a diverse caseload independently while demonstrating strong clinical reasoning skills.
- Adapt to various clinical environments and tackle the challenges of a busy hospital/community setting.
- Understand risk management and promote positive risk-taking.
- Provide advice and support regarding assistive equipment and modifications.
