Our Space Systems division designs and produces a diverse array of satellites, payloads, and components, including spacecraft selected for NASA missions to the Moon and Mars, and instruments utilized in the James Webb Space Telescope.

At Rocket Lab, we are not only launching rockets; we are building the future of space exploration. Our Space Systems team is responsible for creating everything from complete spacecraft and precision payloads to the components and subsystems that enable their functionality in space, such as solar panels, flight software, star trackers, optical systems, separation systems, radios, and more.
Our Space Systems team has contributed to over 1,700 missions, encompassing interplanetary exploration, in-space manufacturing, and national security initiatives. We have developed spacecraft, payloads, and components for missions to the Moon and Mars, collaborating with partners like NASA, the Space Development Agency, and the U.S. Space Force. Whether it’s a high-performance spacecraft, a constellation, or the integrated components that facilitate their journey to space, our world-class Space Systems team is empowering some of the boldest and most ambitious missions in the realm of space exploration.

Rocket Lab’s Optical Systems division addresses mission-critical challenges in the space domain and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) for Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) clients.
