The Senior Math Instructor at our Mountain View, CA location will engage students in a comprehensive teaching role, delivering a full course load during both the Academic Year and Summer sessions. This full-time, year-round position not only involves teaching but also includes supporting fellow instructors and directors through grading, organizing workshops, and demonstrating effective teaching practices during class observations and professional development sessions. During Academy breaks, responsibilities will extend to grading, conducting family meetings, on-site assessments, and open houses, in addition to creating professional development training and managing outreach events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the AoPS curriculum in dynamic, interactive classes, ensuring student engagement and effective classroom management.
- Oversee grading and administrative tasks for assigned classes.
- Assist other instructors and directors with grading as necessary.
- Maintain regular office hours for student support.
- Conduct various support meetings with students and families from assigned classes.
- Participate in teacher training and mentoring, allowing observations and assisting directors in training discussions.
- Help plan and conduct professional development sessions.
- Design and implement content-specific workshops for both current and prospective students.
- Contribute to discussions on course feedback and potential curriculum enhancements.
